Boat Lettering

We use a high standard vinyl adhesive with many possible color options to create our boat lettering. They are pre-spaced and pre-masked to make it easy to install and it is very durable. Common uses include registration numbers, home ports and boat names. Simple graphics are available with boat lettering but if you desire something more complex our boat decal product should be used.

Installation

Lettering:A very simple process since it is pre-spaced /pre-masked with transfer tape.
A few conditions should be in place prior to installation your boat lettering: the boat should be out of the water, it should be between 60-90 degrees Fahrenheit, boat paint should be cured and there should not be any wax or polish present.
Start by making sure wherever you want your lettering to go that the area is cleaned with a glass or boat cleaner. Then with the pre-masked transfer tape and protective backing still attached place it onto the boat. Painters tape is helpful when you do this by taping the top of the letters. Now, slowly remove the backing and once the adhesive is exposed, slowly apply pressure (ideally with a squeegee) starting top to bottom. Finally, remove the pre-mask tape and you are done.
Decals:A few conditions should be in place prior to the installation your boat lettering: the boat should be out of the water, it should be between 60-90 degrees Fahrenheit, boat paint should be cured and there should not be any wax or polish present.
Start by making sure wherever you want your decal to go that the area is cleaned with a glass or boat cleaner. Then remove the protective backing, exposing the adhesive and place in your desired area. Use a squeegee to press down on the decal and this will cause the decal to bond to the boat. Make sure you know where you want to position the decal as the adhesive works quickly. Allow 24 hours to dry.

Care

Lettering & Decals:We recommend that you clean your lettering & decals regularly – even after every boat use – using water and a smooth cloth. It is acceptable to use soap on the decals. To make sure your boat lettering & decals last long and look great do not use power buffers, power washers or strong cleaners.

Boat Decals

Our boat decals are made from vinyl that has a strong adhesive and is very durable, with the ability to with stand oceans and the elements. If you want a custom image, boat decals are a great choice and they also can be cut to shape, just be aware that the lettering will not be cut individually. Color options for decals are more extensive than boat lettering choices and text effects are possible however.
